En este curso se mostrarán las técnicas básicas de la acuarela aplicadas a la ilustración botánica.
Se enseñará a los alumnos a dibujar con precisión las plantas mediante la observación de sus formas y estructuras, ayudando a desarrollar la capacidad para ver dichas formas, juzgar ángulos, proporciones, el valor tonal, usar la luz y la sombra para dar vida al dibujo, el uso de la acuarela en capas y la mezcla de colores. Se examinarán detalladamente las plantas y sus partes, colores y texturas, trabajando diferentes tipos de hojas y flores.
Este curso propone combinar la precisión científica con una visión estética para crear obras de arte botánico.

And here we are again, I am coming back Barcelona! Let’s meet again to do some paintings in this artistic, energetic, lively city.
This workshop is aimed to show you the basic techniques of watercolour used in botanical illustrations.
You will learn how to draw plants accurately by observing basic botanical shapes and structures and illustrating them with botanical accuracy, focusing on developing your ability to; see shapes; judge angles; draw in proportion; represent form through tonal value; use light and shade to make your drawing life-like; use watercolour washes and mix colours.
During this workshop plants and its parts, colors and textures will be examined in detail. You will find opportunity to work on different types of leaves, flowers and its fine details.
This workshop will help you to combine scientific accuracy with an aesthetic vision to create beautiful botanicals.

We try to organise these courses in Spanish, but so far, all the classes has been completed in a mix of languages: Spanish, English and some Turkish language, depending on the attendees.

7. A range of Watercolour brushes (Number 4, 3 or 2, and some small number of brushes will be useful for fine details)

9. Watercolour pigments (Winsor&Newton Artists’ Value is recommended but any label you prefer to use)
10. Watercolour Paper (Minimum 300 g/s, Hot Pressed, 50-100% Cotton watercolour paper is recommended, A3 or A4 size)
