Autumn fruits, flowers and leaves are rich with warm colours, fascinating textures and details. We will learn how to paint the different surface textures we see, how to mix and match and then blend and layer colour to capture the extraordinary beauty of our plant world as seasons change.

. Mary Dillon
An artist from Ireland, Mary Dillon enjoys capturing the essence of a plant with its’ sensuality and frailty. Colour, light and form permeate her work.. Mary has a particular fascination for botanical art as a personal process while at the same time striving for excellence in her art practice.
Mary’s work has recently been selected for the Hunt Institute 16 th International Exhibition in Pittsburgh and also for the ASBA 22nd Annual International Exhibition. Mary received the Anne Marie Carney Award and the Jean Emmons People’s Choice award at the ASBA (American Society of Botanical Artists) exhibition, From Golden Gate to Garden Gate, in San Francisco, October 2017. She was awarded Gold Medals and Best in Show in Botanical and Floral Art at Bloom, Dublin, 2016 and 2017. Her work has recently been shown in The Movement of Plants, Forum Botanische Kunst, Thüngersheim, Germany and in Natura Picta, Case Di Dante, Florence, Italy.
Mary was the founding chairperson of the Irish Society of Botanical Artists. She is an artist member and tutor with the American Society of Botanical Artists. Mary has been elected a Fellow Member of the Society of Botanical Artists, UK and a member of the Watercolour Society of Ireland.
